When you choose to work in the NHS, you are able to access a range of benefits. Below are some of the benefits that are available to staff at our Trust.
Full time employees are entitled to the following allowance plus bank holidays each year
- 27 days
- 29 days after 5 years
- 33 days after 10 years' service.
- Purchasing of annual leave is also available on request.
Looking for a new car? Our staff are able to save money on a new car.
For a fixed monthly amount, you can lease a new car with insurance, servicing, MOT, road tax, repair bills and breakdown cover included.
You’ll have to pay for is the fuel – unless it’s electric of course!
Childcare vouchers are available to all employees using registered childcare for children aged 0 to 15 years (16 if your child is disabled). The vouchers cover most types of childcare such as nurseries, childminders, breakfast clubs and holiday play-schemes. You’re paid a portion of your salary in vouchers and this is exempt from tax and National Insurance contributions.
Since October 2018 access to the childcare voucher scheme is no longer available to new applicants but you may be eligible for tax free childcare here.
Our staff can benefit from a wide range of savings on shopping, leisure and entertainment activities. Salary sacrifice schemes for car leases, childcare vouchers, cycle to work, home and electronic goods are also available too.
Balance is important to stay healthy and happy at home and at work. We offer a range of flexible working to meet the needs of staff and our services.
We’ll always try to accommodate flexible working through arrangements such as flexitime, special leave, annualised hours, flexible retirement, and career breaks.
We recognise the importance of maintaining a good balance between work and the rest of life, supporting our staff to:
- Combine work and home life effectively
- Enjoy a healthy and safe working environment
- Develop their careers through lifelong learning.
The NHS pension scheme is well regarded. Staff can opt into the scheme at any time during their employment in the NHS.
For guidance on NHS pensions, staff can visit the NHS Pensions Agency website or call us on 0300 330 1346.
