What is Domiciliary Physiotherapy?
The domiciliary, or ‘home visiting’ physiotherapy service is provided to people, aged 18 years and over, living at home (or in a residential or nursing home) who are unable to travel to an outpatient physiotherapy appointment.
Patients often require physiotherapy at home for a range of reasons, including:
-
Following a prolonged hospital stay
-
Post-operative rehabilitation (e.g. orthopaedic or spinal surgery)
-
Reduced mobility
-
Impaired balance / falls
-
Long term neurological conditions (e.g. Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or a stroke in the past)
-
Respiratory and cardiac diseases (pneumonia, bronchiectasis, COPD etc.)
Therapy assistants are also part of the team, supporting the Physiotherapists in their assessments and interventions.
This service is delivered as part of the LSCft Central Community Rehabilitation Team.

-
Reduce your risk of falls and injuries
