Our vaccination hub in Bamber Bridge, Preston, is continuing its vaccination programme by working with key partners.
The vaccination centre, based at Ribble House, launched in January 2021 is part of the biggest vaccination programme in NHS history and has prioritised vaccinations for NHS, social care and care home staff in line with the official guidelines issued by NHS England.
One month on, the Trust is now able to extend its offering to partner organisations where staff fall within the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) categories 1-5.
Chief Executive at LSCft, Caroline Donovan, said:
“We are incredibly proud to be playing a vital part in the national vaccination roll out and supporting the incredible work that our fellow NHS colleagues and providers are doing.
We are delighted with the progress we have made in vaccinating our staff and feel privileged to be able to extend the offer of vaccination to our partner agencies that do such important work.”
The vaccination site, which currently operates Monday-Friday between 8:30am and 5:00pm, is not open to the general public.
However, for people that meet the required JCVI criteria 1-5, there are a number of vaccination sites across the region where they can book their vaccination.
For anyone attending a pre-booked appointment at Ribble House, proof of age and or eligibility of meeting the JCVI criteria will be required.
Without this evidence, unfortunately people will be turned away as the Trust is unable to vaccinate outside of the mandated criteria.
The Trust has also extended its vaccination rollout to two homeless shelters in the Blackburn area, Canterbury House and Union House.
The new vaccination centres are open to the homeless community in East Lancashire.
