At your annual health check the doctor or nurse will look in your ears.

The equipment used to help the doctor see into your ear is called an otoscope.

The doctor or nurse is checking that;

  • There is not too much wax in your ear,
  • Your eardrum is not inflamed or irritated,
  • There is no fluid which may show there are signs of an infection.
